Jericho returns to acting

Thursday July 5,2007 Philippines

After his ten-month acting hiatus, Jericho Rosales is now busy taping for his new soap series on ABS-CBN, "Pangarap na Bituin," where he will star with three leading ladies Sarah Geronimo, Rica Peralejo and Maja Salvador.

The soap series will air in the network's primetime block, where Jericho earlier ruled with widely followed teleseryes like "Pangako sa 'Yo," "Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas" and last year's remake of the action-fantasy-drama, "Panday."

Last month, Echo earned raves for his amusing gender-bending role in ABS-CBN's "Love Spell." He starred in the month-long episode, "Elay Enchanted," with Iya Villania as his love interest. It was a different acting assignment for Echo and what's admirable about him is that he is not afraid to try on new challenges in his career.

Even if he's back to the drama grind, Echo still finds time for his singing career and accommodates requests to perform in music bars. He continues to sing with his band, Jeans, which has been promoting their debut album, "Loose Fit," under EMI Philippines.

The 14-track album has been launched in Malaysia and will likewise be released in Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia. The group is now promoting their second single, "Tuwing Nakikita Ka," with a music video which Echo directed.

Jeans is now gathering materials for their second album that will contain classic OPM revivals. On July 6, 7 and 21, Jeans will take centerstage at Ratsky's in Malate. The group will also perform at Blue Wave Marquinton in Sumulong Highway, Marikina on July 29.

On July 4, Echo and his real-life girlfriend Heart Evangelista, will join Jeans in a live guest appearance at Cadiz City, Negros Occidental. Both are being managed by Genesis Entertainment.

On July 14, Echo joins Sarah Geronimo onstage in the latter's major concert, "In Motion," at the Araneta Coliseum. Also guesting are Gary Valenciano, Sam Milby, Mark Bautista, John Prats, Louie Ocampo and Ai-Ai de las Alas.

Echo is also invited as guest performer in the T'nalak Festival at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center on July 16.
