The year before a high end Thailand fashion magazine company was responsible for the calender, this year it'll be done by director Stanley Kwan, also serving as creative director as well. Since this year is TVB's 40th anniversary, incollaboration of the celebration, Stanley Kwan will focus on TVB's classic scenes from the past, for example shooting the Shanghai Bund, they'll be building the set at the back mountain of the studio, and of course including shots in Taiwan.

Miriam was the guest host for "RoadShow". Edison Chen and Mark Lui were invited to be interviewed by her. Miriam will not invite any special guests for her concert in October. Edison is in charge of designing the concert souvenirs including T-shirt, glasses, braclet, necklace and hand phone string. Miriam said that this God brother is usually filial to his family members, hence he will not charge too high of a fee by helping his God sister. She also asked Edison to help her design the concert booklet. Miriam's boss Lin Jianyue has asked her not to make too many requests. Miriam said her concert was 50 pages thick, her requests won't be as many as the company's.

Miriam knew that Edison is currently filming a movie and asked him if his co-star Huang Xiaoming is handsome in real person. Edison replied he had only filmed one scene with him and didn't see clearly, but he thinks he's friendly. "I can bring you to the set or help you get his autograph. He should be very happy!" Miriam then replied, "Everyone says he's handsome, even my mum and aunties. I also saw him in 'Shanghai Bund' and 'Condor Heroes'. My mum asked me to get his autograph, but I missed him during Hong Kong Film Awards."

Edison's character and behavior are often being criticized. As his God sister, Miriam feels he's just being too straightforward and when he met unfairness or before communicating, he already reacts. Hence sometimes it's too extreme and causes misunderstanding, just like older self. But she thinks since Edison has opened a company and nourished with love, he has become more steadfast.

Sammul Chan: "What I Look for in a Woman"

Wednesday August 22, 2007 Hong Kong

In “On the First Beat,” Sammuel Chan Kin Fung’s character was very faithful in love. After Fiona Sit Hui Kei’s character died, he was involved in an ambiguous relationship with Sonija Kwok Sin Lei.
However, Sammuel’s character tried to reunite Sonija and Michael Tao. Unfortunately after the couple reunited, Sonija’s character was killed in a traffic accident.

In real life, Sammul’s romantic rumors are much more interesting. During the filming of “Survivor’s Law II,” Sammul was rumored to be fighting with Ella Koon Yan Na over Ron Ng Cheuk Hei’s affections.

In the past, Sammul’s sexual orientation was often questioned by the press. Although he clarified that he was not gay each time, his protests were uneventful.

Time was the best evidence and Sammul was unafraid that his gay rumors would scare away his female friends. Sammul pointed out that there were more women than men in Hong Kong, thus the odds were in his favor to find a girlfriend. Sammul said he was faithful in love and would not complain even if he had to drive his girlfriend everywhere.

In the past, Sammul was upset by his gay reports, but now he understands that rumors are beyond his control. Whether he goes out with women or men, rumors would result. Although Sammul explained himself and swore he was not gay numerous times, the public’s perception was unimportant. His family’s trust was important however.

“Perhaps the casual reader will believe in the rumors. But my family trusts me and never questioned me about the rumors. I am very close to my elder sister and I often confided in her regarding romantic relationships.”

“The paparazzi witnessed me dating another artist and someone outside of the industry before, but surprisingly they did not report the incident. Someone suggested that I bring forth my female friend, but I didn’t want to do so. The paparazzi will likely slander her; I do not want her to be ridiculed by her colleagues.”

“I am not afraid that my rumors will scare away my female friends. They are more afraid of being photographed by the press. A Leo will place much thought into all actions. Even shopping for clothes requires much thought. Finding a girlfriend is the same as shopping for clothes. I am a picky person and do not want to hurt anyone. A friend asked me to invest in some stocks, but I’ll rather earn less money than owe a debt.”

Sammul admitted that placing too much thought before action has cost him good dating opportunities. As a result, he lost out on the girl he was interested in to someone else. However, Sammul insisted that dating is not a game and it is good to get to know each other first. If they were destined for each other, then things would work out.

Does being too picky make it impossible to find the right girlfriend? “Friends teased me in the same manner. The most important criteria is compatibility. My requirements are not too high; I just wish her to be skillful in cooking."
"Although many people say that cooking can be prepared by a maid, dishes cooked by you wife tastes the best. There is a warmer feeling when food is prepared by a loved one!”

BOYS WITH MOST BUZZ?

Thursday August 16,2007 Taiwan

ENP

THOSE big eyes that speak volumes, smooth fair skin, striking figures and kissable lips.

Wu Chun was a model and a fitness instructor, and owned a gym in in Brunei.
We're not talking about hot babes, but the latest line of celebrity Taiwanese boys.

Some are so pretty, they're sweeping the feet off women in Hong Kong and the region.

We turn storm chaser to track down the new 'tai-phoon' of boyish cuties:

MR CLASSY

Who he is: Born in Brunei, the 27-year-old was discovered while he was travelling in Taiwan.

Wu Chun, whose real name is Goh Kiat Chun or Wu Ji Zun in Chinese, has a bachelor's degree in business administration from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.

Before entering showbiz, he was a model and a fitness instructor and owned a gym in in Brunei.

His family, which apparently owns the sole dealership of Mitsubishi automobiles in Brunei, is purportedly one of the richest in the country.

He made his name in Taiwanese idol dramas and is also part of the boy band Fahrenheit, which includes Calvin Chen, Jiro Wang and Aaron Yan.

Why he's hot: Although Wu Chun made his debut in the idol drama KO One only in 2005, he's taken the scene by storm.

He hit it big with his role as the brooding high-jump champion Quan in last year's popular idol drama Hanazakarino Kimitachihe (Hana Kimi), which starred Ella from girl group S.H.E.

What's more, Fahrenheit has been touted as the successors to Taiwan's hottest boy band F4, and Wu Chun is undoubtedly its most popular member.

His soulful eyes and classy elegance, coupled with his down-to-earth charm and 'good guy' image is a big draw with female fans.

He recently finished filming Romantic Princess with Angela Chang and the singer-actress praised his good temper.

'Wu Ji Zun is really very good to bully!' she told reporters.

When Fahrenheit and fellow actor Danson Tang visited Hong Kong to promote Hana Kimi in March, they were received by some 200 fans at the airport.

More than 10 security personnel were required to escort them as the scene quickly became very chaotic with fans falling and items like shoes and water bottles strewn all over the 'battleground'.

Four thousand fans also jammed a shopping mall to meet the boys later in the day.

Keith Sim, account manager of talent management company BizTrends, said Wu Chun has the ability to establish an affinity with the audience.

He added: 'He's cute and well-built and most importantly, he appeals to the audience.

'Once you have that down pat, you don't actually need much potential because the rest is all about packaging.'

Tai-phoon rating: 4.5 out of 5

MR COOL

Who he is: Like Mike He, Joe started off as a model before he became an actor.

But his debut as the androgynous Kui in the drama serial The Rose with S.H.E. in 2003 seems to have set the precedent for the quirky roles he took on later on.

Why he's hot: It's all thanks to the highly-rated drama serial It Started With A Kiss.

He plays a super smart but icy cold student, Jiang Zhishu, whom Ariel is in love with.

Nicknamed 'Xiao Zong', the 25-year-old may not be as pretty as Wu Chun or as chiselled as Mike, but Joe has won fans with his fun persona and crazy sense of humour.

When he visited Hong Kong with Ariel to promote It Started With A Kiss last month, more than 1,000 fans turned up at a shopping mall to see them.

He reportedly created such a stir while filming a food programme at a food street that the producers had to cordon off the area to prevent enamoured fans from constantly approaching him and interrupting the recording.

Even a recent report exposing his diary entries and his secret admiration for Mike, which he denies, may not dent his popularity.

His manager Mr Ang recently revealed that comedy king Stephen Chow is keen on getting Joe to appear in his new movie, and there are also drama serial offers from Japan and Korean.

But in the long run, Joe's image may limit his versatility.

Mr Ang said: 'He has been playing cool and androgynous roles and that can limit him.

'It may have been refreshing initially but how many such characters can he play before people will get sick of him remains to be seen.'

Tai-phoon rating: 3.5

FLIRTATIOUS DAN

Who he is: Some might have mistaken Danson as being part of the boy band Fahrenheit, as he has been frequently seen with its members to promote their drama productions such as Hana Kimi and The X-Family.

The 23-year-old made his debut appearing in music videos and commercials before he starred in the drama Nine Balls.

Most notably, he is known for his role as Liang Sinan, the flirtatious nephew of the school's health official, in Hana Kimi.

Why he's hot: Bearing a slight resemblance to Joe, the 23-year-old may not be as big a name as the other three but his star is rising.

He will be riding on the wave of It Started With A Kiss by appearing in its sequel.

Danson also recorded the song Still Love You The Most as the ending theme song for The X-Family.

He was recently been signed by Avex Trax Taiwan to become its new recording artiste.

When he was in Hong Kong with Wu Chun in March to promote Hana Kimi, the two lads won the hearts of the Hong Kong media with their earnest attempts at speaking Cantonese.

Tai-phoon rating: 3

THE LIPS

Who he is: Mike started his career as a model before he was invited to star in his first TV show Seventh Grade in 2004 alongside Ariel.

He has since acted in numerous idol dramas and in 2005, he was signed up by Korean superstar Bae Yong Joon's Japanese management company.

Last year, Hong Kong's biggest television company, TVB, also signed him on to film a series.

Why he's hot: Nicknamed 'Xiao Mei' (little beauty in Mandarin), the 24-year-old was named as one of Asia's eight hottest men and voted one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in China by Beijing News.

His various idol dramas - Love Contract, Devil Beside You, Marry Me! and the recent Why Why Love - have also cemented his heart-throb status.

STAMPEDE

He's also been called 'The Lips' by fans as he is well-remembered for his on-screen kisses with actresses like Rainie Yang, Ariel, Angelica Lee and Landy Wen.

Mike is so hot - he created a stampede when he made a secret visit to Hong Kong last year.

'It was a private trip. We didn't expect fans, so we didn't hire security guards,' he told The New Paper when he was in town recently.

'But we were surrounded by so many fans, it took us half an hour just to get to the exit after leaving immigration.'

When he visited Hong Kong last month to promote Marry Me!, he was again hounded by some 300 fans at the airport and 1,000 fans at a shopping mall.

But so far, Mike's fans have to be contented with only watching him.

Said Lianhe Zaobao's entertainment reporter And Ming Hwa: 'He can only depend on acting because he hasn't gone into singing. He loses out to Wu Chun in this aspect.'

Edison Chen Give Reporters the Middle Finger

Edison Chen Give Reporters the Middle Finger

Edison Chen is well known for his hot headed personality and since entering the industry, the actor-singer has been involved in many scandals. Recently, he was sentenced to a one year good behaviour bond and fined $1000 after kicking a taxi when having a fight with the driver. On Friday, Edison was spotted in the streets with his girlfriend, Vincy Yeung and when he noticed that they were being followed, Edison turned around and gave the reporters the middle finger.

Edison entered the entertainment industry a few years ago and was popular among the ladies for his good looks and he soon opened his own clothing store with great success. In 2006, Edison became the CEO of his own company at the age of only 26 years old. The actor-singer, who has been involved in many rumours with female celebrities, announced that he is currently dating Albert Yeung’s niece, Vincy Yeung and swore to wed her soon. But when the public were convinced that he had finally matured, Edison continued to cause trouble by being involved in a brawl with a cab driver and was soon sentenced with a behaviour bond.

It seems that despite the punishment, this CEO has not learnt his lesson but instead, has worsened. On Friday night, reporters spotted Edison’s car going down a Wanchai road, but when his driver noticed that they were being followed, Edison and his girlfriend immediately got off the car. Edison and Vincy found refuge at a office building and the performer was seen popping his head out once in a while to see if anyone was following. When he believed that there were no reporters watching, holding onto Vincy tightly, Edison ushered her away quickly.

Soon, Edison realised that they were still being followed and to express his annoyance, he stuck out his middle finger at the paparazzi. He then put his finger in his mouth to show his absolute disgust. Worried that Edison was to get in trouble again, his driver drove the car over and sped off when Edison and Vincy were on.

It seems that Edison Chen could not care less about the behaviour bond.

Mike He & Joe Cheng Same Stage - Won't Affect Friendship

Translated by: stephanieshieh @ asianfanatics.net

Lately been said by the media as having a brokeback relationship Mike He and Joe Cheng will be on the same stage in Shanghai for a promotional event. Unbelievably, the media all tried to go to this event, letting the event sponsor to be worried and kept the gates secured, in case there was some sudden conflict. Mike and Joe both generouslly expressed that the paparazzi was just trying to make news up, and they won't be awkward on stage together.

With swarms of paparazzi outside, the event sponsor just wouldn't allow the gate to be open, saying that there would be a high chance of a sudden burst of conflict.

What kind of charms does a celebrity need to have to have this kind of tight security? After the media exposed what seems like a brokeback relationship, Mike and Joe have been under tight scrunity, and this is the first time after that exposure they are promoting together, so the event sponsor feels that something might go wrong suddenly, so decided to keep tight security on.

As for Mike and Joe being on the same stage, there are girl entertainers separating them, even though they had smiles on their faces, but they had no contact with each other... does that mean they're awkward? Mike generouslly responded, "Everyone's good friends, so there is no awkwardness. Because there is nothing going on, and the fact that the magazine was reporting lies, so the friendship has not changed."

And what did Joe say; does he really mean all the good things he said about Mike [ that way ] ? Joe expressed that everything is just rumors, and emphasized that looking in someone's diary is immoral, and hopes that good reporters won't do that in the future.
